Opes will take part in the project PACE, targeted at promising early stage social enterprises in East Africa

Nairobi, Oct 15th 2014 - We are happy to announce that Opes will take part in the execution of the project PACE (Partnership to Accelerate Entrepreneurship - East Africa), aimed at improving the access to private capital for promising early stage social enterprises of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania e Rwanda.

The project, funded by USAID, will be implemented by Open Capital Advisors (Nairobi-based specialized advisory firm) through the involvement of 4 impact investment partner initiatives : Opes, Blue Haven Initative (US), The Eleos Foundation (US) e Montpelier Foundation (UK).

The goal is to support early stage enterprises which, despite showing high growth potential, are not currently in a position to attract investments, due to relevant knowledge gaps (most of all in terms of strategic and operational planning, financial control and/or governance models).

The ultimate purpose of the PACE project is to catalyze private capital and to increase the number of investments directed to EA businesses able to generate social impact and financial returns, creating job opportunities and improving the quality of life for the population at the Base of the Pyramid.
